Patient Representative Group

patient survey

In September 2011, Porter Brook Medical Centre set up a Patient Representative Group (PPG). The aim of the group was to give the patients an opportunity to meet, discuss the services on offer and make sure we are responding to the needs and concerns of our patients. Several patients now meet with members of the practice team approximately every 6 weeks to support the practice and help improve patient services.

In 2011/12 the PRG carried out its first patient survey, designed to test the views of a wider range of patients to see what you think of the service we provide. An action plan based on the results of the survey was then produced, and since then many of these actions have been carried out (please see 2011/12 report below).

Due to its success, the PRG decided to carry out a further survey in 2012/13, results of which you can see in our Local Patient Representative Report 2012/13. A second action plan has since been formulated as a result of these findings, and we hope to implement these important changes over the forthcoming months.

We are currently recruiting new members for the PRG. There is no guarantee that expressing an interest will mean that you will automatically join the group, as it depends on member constitution at the time. We already know many of the different types of patients who come to us and want to ensure we get a really good spread in the group.

We would be especially interested to hear from patients from different ethnic backgrounds, or anyone who is a carer or has very young children.

If you are an enthusiastic individual who would like to find out more about the practice, get involved and help represent the views of our patient body, then please download the interest form or ask at Reception.
